Alistair MacDougall from Sydney Australia and this is my photo The Quiet Matriarch
This mother was quiet protective of her calf and was keen to position herself between the camera and her infant. These Elephants have grazed in this region of the Northern Serengeti for millennia. The forehead of a male elephant is a rounded shape whereas the female’s forehead is much more angled, almost looks square as we can see in this photo.
Wash by hand in mild detergent and dry flat, out of direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry.
